Here at RestoMods, we knew expectations were high after the last couple sweepstakes. So we hit the internet hard until we found an auction we couldn’t pass up. You may recognize this ’69 Ford F100 if you are a fan of Good Guys Rod and Custom. They gave this truck away a couple years ago in their own sweepstakes. Under the moniker “GRT100,” this classic Ford truck was restored and modified thoroughly by Lucky 7 Speed Shop with collaboration from Good Guys several other name brands. The custom built chassis by Scott’s Hotrods ‘n’ Customs was a great starting point, then Lucky 7 partnered with Bodylines by Nickel and both teams did all the paint and bodywork to get this truck looking new. Then came all the other pieces to this badass puzzle. A 425 horsepower Roush Coyote 5.0L V8 engine was installed, mated to a 6 speed Tremec T56 transmission.

So how does a Good Guys giveaway truck become a RestoMods giveaway truck? As it turns out, the man who had won the prize enjoyed the truck for a couple years, but decided to cash in and part ways with it. That’s when we saw it come up for auction on Bring A Trailer, and we had to have it.

The truck is still in perfect shape and is by no means a bare bones shop truck or parts hauler. It truly holds its own and we can attest that it is a blast to drive. We are happy to present the opportunity for RestoMods and Good Guys fans alike to get a second chance at winning the classic truck of their dreams.
