The Ultimate Sleeper: 502 Swapped 1960 Chevy Biscayne

Not many people think of the Chevrolet Biscayne when they are reminded of classic Bow Tie cars from the 50’s and 60’s. Historically, it was overshadowed by the luxurious Bel Air and Impala models and the Biscayne was offered as an economical, base model to frugal consumers. It was the cheapest full sized Chevy money could buy and while it was available in the same 3 engine options as its sisters; an in-line 6 cylinder engine, a 283 V8, and a 348 V8; it was heavy, slow, and not very exciting to drive.

It also means that it’s a very affordable option to turn into a mean restomod! Our friend Larry at JR Concrete in San Diego is the proud owner of this incredible 1960 Chevy Biscayne. On the outside this ride looks almost exactly as it would rollin off the showroom floor but under the hood this baby has a ZZ 502ci crate engine making over 500 horsepower. Complete with an automatic transmission, 12 inch rear end, and more! You could call this tastefully restomod the ultimate sleeper, but the thicker rear tires and loud rumbles from that 502 could give it away. It certainly blew Mike’s socks off when he took it for a drive!
