What Happens When A Porsche 911 Meets An F1 Engine?

When a world-famous Porsche modding company gets together with famed F1 constructor Williams, you know you’re in for a treat. This Porsche 964 is the result of such an incredible partnership. Singer, who only work on 964s, had a customer, Scott Blatner, request a more powerful, lighter version of his classic, and they went completely ham on it. The centerpiece of the project is a 500 horsepower Williams four-liter flat-six that now sits under the hood, but it’s far from the only improvement.

The weight has been brought down to a featherlike 2180 pounds, with extensive use of carbon fiber, magnesium and titanium.  The chassis’ aerodynamics have been given the Williams treatment too, with improvements made according to computational fluid dynamics. Under the front bumper, you’ll now find a large carbon fiber splitter, while at the other end there’s a diffuser and a large spoiler.

The wheels are eighteen-inch magnesium models by BBS, and attached to them you’ll find Brembo calipers mounted to ceramic carbon disc brakes. I want to get back to that engine for a second. It has a rev limit of 9000 rpm, and each liter of displacement produces 125 horsepower. That’s a tremendous amount of power, particularly on such a light car. What’s more is that it looks absolutely stunning, both inside and out. From the outside, particularly towards the rear, you can tell that this means more business than the BBB. Step inside, and you’ll be encased in a racing cockpit, with the Porsche rocking blood orange racing seats

If you’ve got a metric tonne of cash lying around, you too could get your hands on one of these. Singer are offering the conversions to 75 other 964 owners, with the work being done at the Williams plant in Oxfordshire, England.
