The sheer overall quality of this Resto Modded 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Rally Sport earned it a cover feature in the January 2012 issue of Camaro Performers Magazine. With the obvious exception of Rushforth Whiplash wheels and BF Goodrich rubber, LCD tail lights and 383 badges, it stays close to the original in all the right places, including its lustrous PPG Concept GM Torch Red paint and matching Red Z87 Custom interior.

Several key upgrades are hidden within, however, and they make this Camaro the perfect candidate for cruising, shows or autocross. The first step to its new incarnation was installing a Ride Tech Air-Ride suspension system incorporating Strong Arm control arms and sway bar up front and an Air Bar rear setup to mount the Strange Engineering 12-bolt Positraction rear end. Of course, Shock Waves are used at all four corners, as are Wilwood disc brakes.

The car’s 383/450 HP stroker V-8 is packed with durable performance pieces including an Eagle crank and rods, Wiseco pistons and a Comp Cams Xtreme Energy roller cam. A Tremec 600 5-speed manual transmission keeps the engine in the right operating range through the gears. A complete MSD 6AL ignition system is combined with a Pro Billet distributor, coil and alternator, which also powers the Camaro’s custom ICON Audio sound system with JL subwoofer, Alpine amplifier, and Pioneer iPod stereo, all neatly installed out of sight.
