Resto Modding at its finest combines exquisite craftsmanship with studied attention to authenticity to produce new renditions of the great American classics like this superbly rendered 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air sedan.

The subject of an all-encompassing cosmetic and mechanical makeover, it has been thoroughly customized at an investment of over $75,000. The first indications of the car’s quality are its new two-tone White over Pastel Yellow paint, smoothed one piece front and rear bumpers and mirror-like finish.

The high level of execution also shows in the especially well done custom interior. Gorgeous Tan leather upholstery covers the seats and interior trim, even extending to the dash and headliner. While the stock dash insert panels and switches have been retained, the instrumentation was replaced with Classic Instruments gauges and clock.

Driver controls include a wood-rimmed banjo steering wheel on a tilting Ididit column, a floor-mounted Hurst shifter and controls for the Vintage Air climate control system. The trunk features the same theme with a Tan spare cover and matching carpet.

The car is lowered via drop springs over a modern driveline comprising a highly chromed and polished 350 CI small block V-8 and 4-speed manual transmission. It is equipped with power steering, power 4-wheel disc brakes and Hotchkis sway bars, and set in the perfect cruising attitude rolling on low profile rubber on custom built 18-inch Boyd Coddington alloy wheels. Offered with a car cover and personalized California Black plate, this ’55 Bel Air’s combination of Fifties style and 21st century performance are a marriage made in Resto Mod heaven.
