This Bottle Green F100 Is A Pickup Built For Roadtripping

With the news that Ford are suspending production of the F150, it seems like a good time to take a look at a restomodded classic truck. This 1953 F100 by Classic Car Studio of St. Louis, Missouri, recently appeared on Jay Leno’s Garage, and it deserves to be shared here too.

The truck began in a terrible state, looking half-drowned. It also began as a F250, but due to the cab’s similar size, they were able to remove it and rebuild it into an F100 with a bunch of new parts. The drip rails and side vents have been removed, and the running boards have been sheared down. The truck’s ground clearance is also far lower than stock, with all this combining to create an absolutely gorgeous look. This is just a taste of the body modifications, with around 500 hours going into them. The wheels were built by Chris Coddington, one of Boyd’s sons.

The engine isn’t anything too crazy, a Ford Racing 302, but it’s plenty powerful enough for a cruise, producing 345 horsepower. This is a truck you could picture sweeping across America in. It’s a truck that’s built for a road trip.
Classic Car Studio have previous when it comes to creating amazing F100s. They’re the master craftsmen behind this work of art too. Painted in black cherry rather than bottle green, this 1952 F100 rocks a Chevy 350 with a Weber carb and a Turbo 350 transmission. Like the mean green machine however, it’s also been lowered dramatically up front and tastefully finished inside.
