The Chevrolet Chevelle was a sales leader from the time it was introduced, but arguably the most popular body design would emerge in 1968. This particular style planted Chevelle firmly into place as not only a sales leader, but a major muscle-car leader as well.

Chevelles could be had with a host of racing equipment such as big-block engines, 4-speed transmissions, Positraction rear ends, bucket seats, disc brakes, heavy-duty suspensions and more. Most, though, were produced for the general public, touting small-blocks or 6-cylinders, bench seats and basic equipment groups.

Today, Chevelles mark one of the most sought after muscle cars on the planet and interestingly they are as desirable in original condition as they are in Resto Mod guise. On offer here is a remarkable example of a 1971 Chevelle Resto Mod which has enjoyed a ground-up restoration. It’s only covered 100 miles since the completion and has been stored in climate- and humidity-controlled storage. Under the hood is a new 620 HP, 572 CI Chevy Performance V-8 with a March serpentine system, 1000 CFM Demon carburetor and Lemons Headers. Backed by a new Hughes Transmission with a 3000 stall converter, 3-inch driveshaft, Billet yokes, a DTS 9-inch narrowed rear end, 3.70 gear ratio with 35 spline Detroit Locker and Strange axles, it’s been set up to perform very well. Keeping the car in control is a Hotchkis suspension and Strange disc brakes behind the American Racing Torque Thrust wheels.
