Way back in the day, like the ’30s, ’40s, and ’50s, cars had style and panache. Voluptuous; flowing from headlight to tail, with all sorts of beauty in between. These cars had it all, not like many of today’s cars which are usually pathetic looking, poorly made excuses for getting from A to B.

Then again, if you take the beauty from yesteryear, and combine it with today’s top performance, the possibilities are endless…

1939 Zephyr

Clearly one of the sexiest cars ever built, with one of the most bodacious booties ever to grace American car culture, is the 1939 Lincoln Zephyr. Originally equipped with a V-12 engine, the Zephyr was well ahead of its time, even though it never really caught on. Today, the luscious lines of this fat bodied Lincoln bring big bucks at auction because, sadly, many of them died along the way.

If you ever see this elusive unicorn in the wild, do us a favor and take a picture because you may never again have such an opportunity.

1938 Chevrolet Coupe

Like something right out of a Dick Tracy flick or your favorite mobster movie, is a beautiful Chevrolet that most wouldn’t give a second look. Until, that is, they see that big, bubbly rear end staring them in the face. Then they realize, baby got back.

The possibilities are endless with this classic ’30s look. Whether left in stock trim with upgraded essentials, or a totally redone, chopped and slammed body with a massive big block powerhouse…either way you go, you do no wrong.

1940 Merc

Another of America’s Favorite big-butted beauties is the 1940 Mercury. The savory lines cause the Merc to be another of the “must haves” for car collectors across the country. These babes are easily customizable and look fantastic in both bold and mild colors as well as with chopped tops, or not.

However you like your Merc, just make sure she stays clean for the road ahead, and the onlookers who’re sure to drop jaws.

1957 Chevy

Finally, taking a different spin on beauty by adding a dash of flash and smear of sizzle to the dinner table, is the 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. This car isn’t as asstastic as the others on this exclusive list, but offers replacements in all the right areas. In all seriousness, with fins that big, does it really matter how much junk she’s got in her trunk?

Though still out of league for many auto enthusiasts, the ’57 Chevy is the most widely available set of wheels we’ve got to show you today.

The cars of yesteryear are diamonds in the rough. Sadly, most have disappeared into history, except for the occasional barn-find and other oddities that never happen to us “regular folk.” Still, isn’t it fair to dream about these cars?
