In 1953 the Chevrolet 210 replaced the aging Styleline series of entry- and mid-level cars. Chevrolet also introduced the truly entry-level 150 line, which oddly enough in spite of its low price, was a hard sell compared to the 210. Less glamorous and comfortable than the Bel Air models, the 210 was option heaven for customers looking to essentially build their own cars.

Coming standard from the factory with tasteful chrome exterior trim and a more accommodating interior, the 210 was more car than the 150 model could be for not much more money. The 210 was available with any engine and transmission Chevrolet produced, and with the introduction of the V-8 in 1955, the 210 could be a factory hot rod, and often times was, thanks to its lightweight proportions.

The 1955 model year also saw a dramatic restyling of the GM line, a basic styling concept that lasted through 1957 which, for Chevrolet, created the Tri-Five cars, or 1955, 1956, and 1957 Chevrolets. Interestingly, a properly equipped 210 could cost as much as a well-equipped Bel Air.

This 1956 Chevy 210 Sedan was the subject of a ground-up restoration complete with a powder-coated frame. Painted Bright Red with a custom Black interior with Red appointments, the car is powered by a 350 CI small-block V-8 engine linked to a 700R4 automatic transmission with overdrive, a Currie 9-inch differential, and has only traveled about 1,200 miles since completion. Power steering, power disc brakes, power windows, Vintage Air, and sound-deadening materials help enhance the driving experience of this car, providing a higher level of creature comforts and enjoyment.
