Base car: 1963 Chevrolet Corvette

This ‘63 Corvette bears little resemblance to its original model. That hardly matters when as recently as 2009, it held the record for the fastest street legal car in history. It packs an incredible 2600 horsepower under the hood, thanks to a custom engine from drag racer specialists Moran, who also built a engine control computer to keep the beast caged. A quarter mile vanishes under this beast in under 7 seconds.

There have been several ‘63 Corvettes that have come under Rod’s loving hands. The original was a white ‘vette that became exceptionally famous in the 80s. Before the current Corvette, there was also another one that lasted for a few years between the two more well-known models. The most recent, record breaking model is no ugly duckling, though. The chassis was built to NHRA regulations by award-winning Canadian builders Lowdown Hotrods. A custom paint job by artist David Carl Peters adorns the body, with additional paint and marbling by Connery’s Custom Paint. A lot of work has gone into this, and its madness and power show it.
