Base car: 1948 Cadillac Sedanette

Billy Gibbons is a man who knows his hot rods. In addition to the all-time classic that is the Eliminator, the Cadzzilla is pure art. Built by Boyd Coddington, the car was originally going to keep the same essential shape of the Sedanette, while updating the engine and suspension, but Gibbons wanted more. The new shape was scrawled on a bar napkin, with the car being reformed and transformed into the sled shape you see here.

The rear was fully blended, tapered, and dramatically lowered, Frenched headlights installed, the roof chopped, and the whole machine luxuriously covered in gorgeous dark purple paint. Under the hood, you’ll find a 500ci (yep, you read that right) Cadillac V8, and the whole thing sits atop custom suspension. For a neat little touch, check out the license plate. I8TOKYO, or “I ate Tokyo.” Cadzzilla, indeed. This intensive restomod, on an already rare car, wasn’t cheap, coming in at $900,000, but we think it was worth every penny. It’s safe to say that Billy Gibbons is one of us.
